1954
marks the beginnings of Autobus Hélie Inc. in passenger transportation.
Mr. Bruno Hélie, answering the demand of various schools groups,
began driving some of the students of St-Grégoire to their respective
schools. As the number of students rapidly increased, he soon had to
change the taxi cab he then used for a bus. He bought his first vehicle
at Prévost Car in Ste-Claire.
Over time, Bruno Hélie continued to expand his fleet. He had
already purchased 6 vehicles when in 1976, he acquired the carrier
Lucien Deshaies of Ste-Gertrude; thus adding 6 other vehicles to the
fleet.
In 1979, at the request of their father, Mr. Hélie's 3 sons
(Pierre, Jocelyn, and Normand) bought the family business. The first
years of operation did not witness any major changes. However, in 1984,
the acquisition of Autobus Des Bois-Francs brought along significant
changes in the company. On top of school transportation, Autobus Hélie
Inc. began its activities in interurban transportation as well as in
chartered transportation.
In August 1999, we bought Autobus Bourassa Ltée, a business
that owns 22 vehicles and that is based in St-Valère near Victoriaville.
Then in July 2001, we bought Autobus Lucien Roy Ltée and Autobus
L. Roy & Fils inc. based in Lyster and owning 14 vehicles.
Today, Groupe Hélie and it's subsidiaries Autobus Hélie
inc., Autobus Bourassa Ltée, Autobus Lucien Roy Ltée
